Thanks for stopping by. My name is Dave Gafney and my home
is in the Berkshire Hills of western Massachusetts. I have had a life-long interest in
conservation, natural history
and photography. Periodically, since 1977, I have worked seasonally as a
naturalist with the National Park Service (Zion, Yellowstone, Great Smoky
Mountains, Isle Royale, Death Valley, Lake Mead, and the Everglades) and as a
wilderness ranger with the U.S. Forest Service in Colorado & Wyoming.
I,
therefore, have been fortunate in having had the opportunity to immerse myself
in some of the most beautiful wild country in the United States. The
techniques used in capturing the images displayed in these galleries (along with
some of my experiences in working in national parks and federal wilderness
areas) are described in a CD entitled 50 Tips to Great Outdoor Images.
