Goat Rocks Wilderness, Gifford Pinchot National Forest, Washington (#PC0022)
The wonderfully articulate John Muir once wrote that the English language was inadequate when it came to providing a means to properly describe his beloved High Sierra region. The same could be said of the section of the Pacific Crest Trail that passes through Washington's Goat Rocks Wilderness. Above, lupines and Indian paintbrush provide a foreground to Mt. Rainier and the crater of Goat Lake to its left. The beauty of this place is beyond words!
