Deer in Cades Cove, Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Tennessee (#WF0016)
The image above of a whitetail deer was shot while I was hiking across a meadow in the Cades Cove area of the park. The buck arose from its bed in the tall grass and was about to go into flight and so required a hand-held shot using a 70-300 mm zoom telephoto lens extended to 300 mm. Shutter speed of 1/125 at f/5.6 with Fuji Sensia slide film (100 ISO).
