Alpine Buckwheat, Three Sisters Wilderness, Oregon (#PC0018)
The 242,000-acre Three Sisters Wilderness encompasses Mt Bachelor (seen here rising above the yellow blossoms of some alpine buckwheat) and the three snow clad summits of South, Middle and North Sister. These volcanic peaks are surrounded by magnificent old growth evergreen forests dotted with a number of pristine alpine lakes. When in such places, I feel like I have died and gone to heaven!
