Upper Goose Pond, Lee, Massachusetts (#BK0008)
Upper Goose Pond can only be reached by a two-mile hike on the Appalachian Trail or by a canoe paddle across Lower Goose Pond and then through a small connecting channel. The dock and canoe above belong to the Appalachian Mountain Club hikers' hut located on the pond. Four thousand acres surrounding the pond were recently purchased by the National Park Service to be included as part of the Appalachian Trail corridor. Hallelujah!
