Let's take a quick hike on the Appalachian Trail.  Click on any of the thumbnails to the left to enlarge.  Below each image will be information on the photograph and where it was taken.  Hiking the A.T. is a magnificent experience.  Most "thru-hikers" start at the trail's southern terminus on Springer Mountain, Georgia, and head north.  It takes between four and six months to cover the 2140 miles to Mt. Katahdin located deep within the north woods of Maine.  While a thru-hike on the Appalachian Trail can be profoundly rewarding, it is truly a physical ordeal.  Taking this cyber-hike is a little easier (your feet shouldn't get too sore). Our journey will begin in Georgia.  I hope you'll enjoy it!

I get by with a little help from my friends.  Thanks to Joe Zorzin for his help in the original design and construction of this web page and to Loretta Grikis for serving as my "support team" during my long hikes on the Appalachian and Pacific Crest Trails.  Thank you Lori & Joe!
